Janesville gloom
I'm finishing lunch at Hardee's in Janesville, just 20 miles from home. The first snow of the season is whipping through the air (although it's not expected to last.) Now it's starting to bounce... that means sleet.
And my lunchtime reading has been a long article in the Times about the imminent death of J-ville's massive GM assembly plant, once the home of the company's flagship big trucks and SUVs, now forsaken by management in a desperate effort to keep GM from tanking in light of $3 or $4 gas. (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/26/business/26jane.html?pagewanted=all)
Yep, it's a gray, glum day here at Hardee's of Janesville. Best that can be said is the sleet's done for now. GM's implosion? Not so much.
